I have an apple imac i got from a garage sale and need help to reset admin password?

I got an apple imac at a garage sale the other day and i need to reset the admin password. I went back to where i got it and they don't know the password either. How do i change it?

Did you get a Mac OS install disk with the computer? If not, you'll need to find one to borrow. You're not installing anything from it and you'll be able to return it. You just need one to run a utility to reset the admin password.
