Does replacing a motherboard erase computer data?

I sent my computer in to get repaired because it wasn't charging correctly, and Gateway told me that they are waiting for a new motherboard. I don't know anything about computers, so I was wondering will a new motherboard erase all of my data, such as

No, it shouldn't harm the data. That is stored on the computer's hard drive. The motherboard is what the hard drive, processor, CD drive, monitor, etc connects to.
