My laptop does not have a DVI port . How can I get one & how expensive is it?

I want to connect my HD ready TV to my notebook to watch movies and get the sharpest possible picture quality. The common ports that both have right now are - S-Video & VGA. Is the difference between VGA & DVI significant enough to get a DVI port

You likely will not find an adapter from VGA to DVI. You can probably find a converter, but that will be $100 USD or more. To get good DVI output, you'll probably need to purchase a new laptop.
