Will a single external computer hard drive store from three separate computers?

I would like to buy an external hard drive to store information from my computer but as I have three (a PC and two laptops) can a single unit be used to save from all three or do I have to have a separate one for each computer?

Simple question, what is the size of the combined hard drives of the three systems?

Just ensure that the size of the new external drive is larger than the combined sizes and you should easily get away with a single drive.
